Room Leader – Brand-New Nursery Opening January 2026 in Tettenhall! Shooting Stars Nurseries – Tettenhall, WV3 9PE

Salary: £14.60 per hour, plus benefits

Job Type: Full-time

Contract: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week | Shifts between 7:30am–6:00pm

About the Role

Are you an experienced early years professional with a passion for leadership and team development? Shooting Stars Nurseries is excited to be opening a brand-new, fully refurbished nursery in Tettenhall — and we’re looking for dedicated Room Leaders to help shape it from the very beginning! This is a unique opportunity to be part of something special — play a key role in building a strong, collaborative team culture, leading a base room team to create a nurturing, high-quality environment for children, families, and staff from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a base room team to deliver high-quality care and education
  • Collaborate with the Nursery Manager and wider team to continuously improve practice
  • Plan and implement engaging activities using the EYFS framework
  • Support staff development through mentoring and reflective practice
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and food safety standards are met
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and external professionals
  • Support & contribute to recruitment, inductions, and team development
  • Promote a positive and inclusive nursery culture

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a confident, caring, and proactive leader who is ready to take on a new challenge. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • A full and relevant Early Years Level 3 qualification (or higher)
  • Post-qualifying experience in a private day nursery setting
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills
  • A passion for creating and developing a new team culture
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and safeguarding skills
  • A flexible, professional, and positive attitude

Desirable

  • Previous team leader/supervisory experience
  • Experience of Ofsted inspections
  • Experience working with children with SEN
