The predicted salary is between 11 - 13 £ per hour.
We are looking for an experienced Kitchen Assistant to support & work alongside our nursery cook to ensure the preparation and service of a balanced and healthy diet for all children attending the setting and to help with housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
Working hours: 25 hours per week, approx 9am to 2pm Monday to Friday, the nursery is open all year round and is closed on Bank Holidays.
Salary: Up to £12.21 p/h dependent on age/experience.
Experience: Previous experience of cooking in a professional/commercial kitchen is essential. Experience of cooking in children's nurseries/schools is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- To follow Shooting Stars Nurseries Food Safety Policies and Procedures and to support the wider nursery team to ensure that these policies and procedures are adhered to.
- To assist the cook to plan, prepare and serve a suitably balanced rotating menu, whilst considering nutritional guidelines, as well as Government initiatives and healthy eating campaigns.
- Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
- To assist the cook to maintain stock control procedures, and good stock rotation when unpacking and putting away orders.
- To carry out routine health and safety checks and risk assessments.
- To maintain hygiene and cleaning standards at all times with regards to food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness, including the prompt removal of kitchen waste.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures with regards to safeguarding and other employment related policies.
- Ensure the company's policies on diversity and equal opportunities are adhered to.
