We are seeking a permanent Developer who will form part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the IT systems and services employed by Shoosmiths' legal and business support departments.

Responsibilities:
- Provide involvement in all phases of the development of business-changing enterprise solutions, including methodically investigating, analysing, and documenting requirements.
- Design, develop and maintain key software applications and components in accordance with Software and Security Development Lifecycles.
- Test all software development and resolve any issues, ensuring systems operate in a reliable manner.
- Ensure appropriate documentation is created and maintained for all system developments.
- Provide accurate development effort estimates.
- Ensure systems change management is carried out in accordance with Shoosmiths standards and procedures.
Other Responsibilities Will Include:
- Administer and maintain applications in accordance with the needs of the firm.
- Contribute significantly to third-tier support processes, resolving problems, documenting root causes, and improving service levels.
- Support other members of the Development team and of the IS Department as a whole.
- Liaise with the business where required, ensuring a rapid response to all problems and issues and to provide feedback on ideas and queries.
- Develop implementation plans required to deal with complex requests for change, evaluating any risks to the integrity of the firm’s infrastructure associated with the change.
Skills And Experience:
- Essential: Experience developing in C# as a Web Developer.
- Experience building ASP.Net (MVC/Razor) applications.
- Experience with JavaScript and CSS.
- Good understanding of IT systems.
- Preferred: Experience with Microsoft 365, the SharePoint framework, and the Graph API.
- Experience with Microsoft PowerApps.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience with Microsoft SSRS and SSIS.
Qualifications and other role-specific requirements:
- Good A Levels/BTEC Preferably in IT and or Mathematics.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in an IT related discipline.
Additional Details:
- Occasional travel to other Shoosmiths offices may be necessary.
- It is essential that the post holder can work flexible or extended hours to complete some tasks outside of core business hours of 08:00 to 18:00.
