The role is about developing and improving Shoosmiths' mandatory learning portfolio for colleagues across the firm and for our external clients. This includes well-crafted, legally compliant, up-to-date eLearning that engages users. You will work closely with our LMS specialist to enhance the user experience on our platform (Docebo), improve content structure, and make it easier for colleagues to find relevant learning resources.

We aim to move away from heavy, course-based learning towards modern resources that colleagues find genuinely useful. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to challenge briefs, bring a user-centred perspective, and help redefine learning at Shoosmiths.

Core accountability areas:

  • Digital / eLearning development and ownership: Develop our mandatory eLearning portfolio using Adapt and Articulate, ensuring content is current and legally compliant.
  • Digital resource development: Design digital resources such as videos and checklists, curate and maintain high-quality digital learning content.
  • User centred design: Conduct research to understand colleague tasks and needs, using insights to shape effective learning experiences.
  • Stakeholder management: Manage relationships across the organisation and with clients, delivering on time with excellent communication.
  • Training calendar management: Maintain courses in our annual mandatory training calendar.
  • LMS user experience: Develop the user experience in the LMS (Docebo) to improve navigation and access to resources.

  • Performance & Talent Development team (P&TD)
  • Other training teams (e.g. Professional Support Lawyers, Risk & Ethics, Health and Safety)
  • All Shoosmiths colleagues

Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced Learning Design professional with a modern approach to learning.
  • Strong writing and instructional design skills.
  • Experience in eLearning development tools such as Adapt, Articulate, or Captivate.
  • Confidence exploring new approaches and technologies to enhance digital learning.
  • Ability to take ownership of projects; organised and adaptable.
  • Experience of working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), ideally Docebo.
  • Comfortable working in agile ways with a flexible mindset.

Success Measures / KPIs:

  • Timeliness of projects, quality and engagement of learning content.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and positive user feedback.
  • Accuracy of learning materials.
