Join Shoosmiths as a Business Development Senior Executive to support the growth, client acquisition and revenue generation for our Advisory Services division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of clients and services, contributing to horizon scanning and opportunity spotting.
  • Collaborate with the Senior BD Manager to develop, implement and review business development and marketing plans for identified markets.
  • Support strategic planning and tactical delivery of integrated campaigns, client targeting activities, event coordination, thought‑leadership campaigns and conferences.
  • Provide support to partners and fee earners in client meetings, compiling research findings and collaborating with data insights teams.
  • Create credentials, case studies, capability statements and client collateral to support new business bid process.
  • Work closely with the new business team to contribute to bid responses for cross‑division opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the client relations team to support specific client activity and share objectives.
  • Develop relationships with referral networks and industry bodies to identify new opportunities.
  • Assist with awards and submission processes and contribute to ad‑hoc BD projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous business development/marketing experience in a professional services environment; an understanding of the legal sector is advantageous.
  • Creative and innovative approach, contributing to new ideas and initiatives.
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders at all levels, confident and enthusiastic.
  • Team player, able to collaborate and ‘join the dots’.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware, adding value proactively.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office and CRM systems (InterAction experience advantageous).
