We have a fantastic opportunity for an English law qualified solicitor with more than six years of post‑qualification experience (PQE) to join our expanding Real Estate Finance practice in London as a Principal Associate.
In this role you will act primarily on the lender/creditor side, drafting and negotiating LMA‑based real‑estate facility agreements (investment and development) across a wide spectrum of asset classes in the domestic market and key European markets. You will also advise agents, security agents, servicers and cash managers on a variety of REF‑backed financing transactions, including direct lending, backward leverage and securitisation structures.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate LMA‑based real estate facility agreements for investment and development projects.
- Manage deal processes across domestic and key European markets.
- Advise on lender‑side issues such as agent security, servicing and cash management.
- Support REF‑backed financing transactions, including direct lending, backward leverage and securitisation.
- Switch to borrower‑side representation when required.
- Collaborate with a growing team of REF lawyers in London and across the firm.
Qualifications
- English law qualified solicitor.
- Minimum of 6 years PQE.
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating real estate financing agreements, particularly on the lender/creditor side.
- Strong deal‑management skills and ability to operate in multiple asset classes.
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders including banks, lenders, borrowers, public bodies, loan servicers and security trustees.
- Capability to work on both borrower‑side and lender‑side matters.
