Associate – Financial Services
We are looking for an Associate (2 yr PQE +) to join our dynamic, market leading Financial Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist group working in retail financial services; one of the few teams ranked for Consumer Finance UK wide in Chambers and Partners. Responsibilities
You’ll be part of a collaborative national team based across Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and London, where you will work on implementing our strategy to become a leading professional service provider of retail financial services advice. You will partner with household name clients on complex legal issues to provide innovative solutions. The role requires a creative, self‑starter capable of working autonomously with the support of a team. We’d like to see demonstrable experience of supervising juniors and managing clients, excellent drafting skills, attention to detail and a genuine interest in the Financial Services sector.
Team
In this role you will work as part of a collaborative national team. Our current team includes Suzanne Taylor, Wayne Gibbard and Thomas Morrison, well‑known industry experts.

Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years PQE
- Strong knowledge of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 and proficiency in drafting regulated consumer credit documents
- Strong understanding of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, FCA Handbook and ability to advise clients on regulatory matters including FCA authorisation, SMC Regime, Appointed Representatives, outsourcing arrangements and general compliance
- Experience of payment services and e‑money a plus
