The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior or Principal Associate to join our market leading Asset Based Lending practice. Recently ranked by Legal 500 nationally as Band 2 (with the regional team ranked in Band 1) the team continues on its upward trajectory acting for an impressively broad range of lender clients and undertaking some of the largest and most complex transactions in the market.
In addition, we have an established banking team nationally which operates as one; therefore, you\’ll benefit from taking part in shaping the local team and brand whilst having the structure and support to help you progress in your career.
We have a close working relationship with our litigation and restructuring colleagues offering our clients a one-stop shop for all things related to Asset Based Lending.
We also work closely with our corporate practice developing asset based lending as a funding option of choice for corporate acquisitions and refinancing, working for a range of borrowers.
The work on offer is varied across the full transaction lifecycle including:
- Drafting and negotiating facility agreements and security documents (both LMA and non-LMA form).
- Negotiating intercreditor arrangements.
- Drafting standard form precedent documentation (which the team has a particular reputation for).
- Working for borrowers and lenders on back-to-back arrangements.
- Supervising junior team members.
- Handling in-life work on a portfolio basis working with lenders on waivers, re-sets, and restatements.
With a consistent volume of transactions, this is an excellent platform to assume matter responsibility and there is ample opportunity to participate in client development initiatives.
