shoezone has an opportunity for a Warehouse Team Leader to join our team based in our warehouse in Leicester. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary.
PM Shift = Sunday - Thursday, 14:20 - 22:30
We are a town centre, retail park and digital footwear retailer, offering low price and high-quality footwear for the whole family, with free next day delivery on all orders, seven days a week. We operate from 270 stores and have approximately 2,100 employees across the UK.
The Team Leader role:
As a Team Leader, your key role will be to ensure the daily and weekly operations of the distribution tasks are maintained in a cost effective and efficient manner. As a Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to develop and be supported through a Team Leader Supervisor Apprenticeship. Aside from the specific responsibilities listed, you may require to undertake other tasks which will allow the distribution centre to reach all the targets and to help deliver a high standard of efficiency and effectiveness.
Key duties and responsibilities of our Team Leader:
- Lead by example in terms of time and attendance along with a positive 'can do' approach
- Train and develop your people to ensure business goals are achieved and members continue to succeed in their workplace
- Overseeing the distribution operations whilst being an active hands-on member of the team
- Ensuring company policies, procedures and Health and Safety requirements are followed
- Manage the performance of the Warehouse Operatives within an area of responsibility within the Distribution Centre
- Report progress updates, key achievements and any concerns to the Shift Controller and/or Operations Manager
What we're looking for in our Team Leader:
- A keen interest in developing and clearly understanding all of the processes and systems within the Distribution Centre operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with the rest of the Distribution Centre team
- Strong IT skills, in particular the knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good planning skills
- Ability to meet targets and deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
