Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Performance Tester to join a dynamic team focused on evaluating the scalability, responsiveness, and stability of cloud-based applications hosted on AWS. The ideal candidate will be proficient with Gatling and k6 to design, execute, and report performance and load tests. This role is a hybrid contract position, with onsite attendance required at our offices within the M25 corridor. You will collaborate closely with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-performing cloud services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement performance test plans using Gatling and k6
- Execute load, stress, spike, and endurance testing on applications deployed in AWS
- Analyse performance test results and provide detailed reports with improvement recommendations
- Collaborate with cloud engineers to simulate production-like environments and traffic in AWS (EC2, ELB, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Integrate performance testing with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Identify performance bottlenecks and assist developers and DevOps in tuning systems
Requirements:
- Proven experience with Gatling and k6 for performance/load testing
- Solid understanding of AWS architecture and services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, RDS, ALB)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus)
- Knowledge of CI/CD practices and test automation integration
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of Terraform or other IaC tools
- Performance testing APIs and microservices
