YOUR NEXT ROLE:

This position sits within the Financial Control team and will be responsible for delivering a number of key finance projects, supporting process improvement initiatives and providing flexible support across the wider finance function during peak workloads. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is suited to a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge and a hands-on approach to driving change within a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Finance to improve processes, strengthen controls, enhance reporting capabilities and support key operational activities as required.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and support a range of finance transformation and process improvement initiatives, including but not limited to:
    • Automation and enhancement of balance sheet reporting
    • Development of management reporting including Travel & Entertainment (T&E) reporting
    • Review, documentation and optimisation of key finance processes and controls
    • Review month end processes sat within commercial finance with the aim to streamline and move into financial reporting team
    • Creation and maintenance of Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs) to support a robust financial control environment
    • Identification of opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention and increase reporting accuracy

Support the Wider Finance Team

  • Provide flexible support across the finance function during periods of peak workload including:
    • Supporting the month-end close process, including balance sheet reconciliations and review activities
    • Assisting with year-end and interim audit requirements
    • Providing cover and support across Financial Reporting and Transactional Finance teams as required
    • Assisting with process improvement initiatives
    • Supporting business-wide requests for financial information and analysis

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualified experience
  • Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge
  • Background in external audit with subsequent industry experience
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis and reporting automation
  • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP S/4HANA
  • Proactive, pragmatic and solution-focused approach
