We are seeking an experienced Fire & Building Safety Specialist to join a globally recognised organisation, providing specialist fire safety support across a diverse and complex operational environment. The position will play a key role in supporting the organisation, ensuring projects meet relevant fire safety legislation, Building Regulations and internal safety standards.
The role will have a strong focus on construction and building fire safety, Building Regulations & the Building Safety Act. You will work closely with Contractors, Project Managers and wider project teams, providing practical fire safety advice throughout project delivery.
The Fire & Building Safety Advisor will be responsible for:
- Providing competent and practical fire safety advice across projects and the wider organisation
- Undertaking and reviewing Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring actions are appropriately managed and closed out
- Conducting fire safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Supporting construction and development projects to meet Building Regulations and fire safety requirements
- Reviewing fire strategies and temporary fire strategies against construction phasing and design intent
- Maintaining fire safety policies, processes and documentation
- Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations and sharing lessons learned
- Working closely with Contractors, Project Managers, fire engineers, enforcing authorities and other key stakeholders
- Promoting a positive fire safety culture through engagement, guidance and training
The Fire & Building Safety Advisor will have:
- 3+ years' experience within fire safety or a similar role
- A minimum Level 4 Fire Safety qualification or equivalent
- Experience of fire safety within construction
- Awareness of CDM Regulations and construction-phase requirements
- Experience working across large, complex or multi-contractor environments
- Experience conducting fire safety inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
