Are you an experienced health & safety professional with knowledge of heavy civil engineering projects and seeking a new opportunity? I am currently working with a principal contractor that is seeking a Senior H&S Advisor to join the team to be based on a major project in Dartford. The ideal candidate will have major project experience within civil engineering and be a proactive and engaging H&S professional looking to continue growing their career.

The Senior Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance to the team and wider contractors
  • Carry out site-based H&S audits and inspections
  • Support and advise on the assessment and appointment of subcontractors
  • Complete monthly reports for senior management, identifying any areas of concern and suggest improvement plans
  • Sharing health & safety best practices across the business
  • Lead on accident investigations and near misses to identify root causes and implement improvement plans
  • Conduct risk assessments and method statements for sites when required
  • Promote a positive and proactive health & safety culture across all the business

The Senior Health & Safety Advisor will have:

  • 5 years of experience working in health & safety
  • Previously worked on major projects in civil engineering
  • NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Ideally working towards Diploma level, but not essential
  • Happy to work in a site-based position
