Shirley Parsons are delighted to be working with a global family-owned Construction organisation who are looking to appoint a Quality Improvement Manager within their rail division. This role will be working with delivery teams to lead the implementation of a quality culture across all areas of the organisation; facilitating process improvements to optimise delivery and drive continual improvement. Working across internal and external interfaces, the role delivers standards of excellence through both proactive and reactive engagement.

Quality Improvement Manager Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development and embedding of a consistent organisational quality approach across delivery teams, frameworks, projects and the supply chain.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives and value engineering to optimise delivery performance and support continual improvement.
  • Developing and maintaining Quality Management Systems, processes, plans and supporting documentation in line with ISO 9001 and applicable external requirements.
  • Coordinating the assurance of quality deliverables, inspection and testing standards from management systems through to site implementation.
  • Ensuring the Quality Management System is effective, value-driven and fully implemented across all relevant sites and staff levels.
  • Developing quality performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to meet client, internal and stakeholder requirements, including supply chain performance.
  • Facilitating effective quality inspection and review regimes to track project and framework performance, identify trends and enable early intervention on at-risk activities or teams.
  • Building quality capability through training, competency development and performance improvement of delivery teams.

Quality Improvement Manager Experience:

  • Practical experience of providing technical advice, guidance, and development of Quality management and systems; preferably gained in the rail or construction industry.
  • Demonstrable experience of creating proactive quality management cultures at operational and management levels.
  • Experience of developing Quality Management plans, Inspection and Testing plans in construction/engineering or rail related environments.
  • Experience of leading process improvement reviews with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrable experience as Quality Transformation Lead, or Improvement and Innovation Lead.
  • Experience in Internal assurance, investigation and close out of NCRs.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Process focused with strong analytical problem-solving traits.
  • Be self-motivated and have a passion about Quality.
