Sevenoaks School, founded in 1432 and globally recognised for academic excellence and innovation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Safety Advisor to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the safety and wellbeing of a vibrant, diverse community of over 1,200 students and 400 staff on an award-winning 100-acre campus.
About the Role
As Fire Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in developing and implementing a robust fire safety management system across all school sites and activities. You’ll work closely with departments across the school to ensure compliance with legislation, promote a positive safety culture, and provide expert advice on fire safety matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the review and implementation of fire safety policies and systems
- Overseeing fire detection and emergency systems
- Conducting fire risk assessments and audits
- Coordinating fire safety training and evacuation drills
- Liaising with contractors, emergency services, and internal teams
- Supporting critical incident planning and investigations
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong experience managing fire safety in a complex environment
- Up-to-date knowledge of fire safety legislation and best practice
- Excellent communication and IT skills
- Relevant fire safety qualifications and memberships (e.g. Institute of Fire Engineers)
- Experience in an educational or residential setting
