Environmental Manager – Leading Renewable Energy Facility

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 + a great bonus package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Manager to take a central role at one of the UK’s most advanced waste-to-energy facilities. This position offers the chance to lead environmental performance on a high-profile site driving significant progress in renewable energy and decarbonisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Environmental Excellence: Become the driving force behind environmental compliance and best practices on site. Act as the go-to expert, shaping policies, influencing key decisions, and ensuring operations not only meet but exceed environmental standards.
  • Monitor and Optimise: Oversee the environmental monitoring programme, ensuring regulatory and management reports are delivered accurately and on time.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee adherence to permit specifications, including biodiversity management plans, while managing routine regulatory monitoring such as ESA protocols, CEMS, and water discharge compliance. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure full compliance with statutory obligations.
  • Drive Data-Driven Decisions: Analyse emissions data to identify trends, prevent potential issues, and drive continuous improvement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven Expertise: Experience in an environmental regulatory or supervisory role, with a strong background in compliance, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Educational Foundation: Ideally, a BSc (or equivalent) in an Environmental subject such as Environmental Science or Chemistry.
  • Strategic Thinking: A proactive mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, identify risks, and implement practical solutions.
  • Confident Communication: The ability to effectively engage and influence internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
