Job Description
Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading construction company to offer an exciting opportunity for an Environment & Sustainability Advisor to join their team. If you’re passionate about environmental management and sustainability, this role will allow you to drive real change across projects in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion Environmental Compliance – Shape and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS), ensuring projects meet ISO 14001 standards and exceed industry best practices.
- Lead Site-Based Sustainability – Carry out audits, site inspections, and risk assessments to identify opportunities for improvement and create real environmental impact.
- Enhance Green Initiatives – Develop and implement strategies that reduce waste, conserve resources, and enhance biodiversity, setting new benchmarks for sustainable construction.
- Inspire & Educate – Deliver engaging training sessions and awareness campaigns, empowering teams to embed sustainability into their daily work.
- Collaborate for a Greener Future – Work closely with project teams, regulatory bodies, and external partners to develop and deliver forward-thinking environmental strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
- Passionate Environmental Expert – A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (IEMA, NEBOSH certifications are beneficial).
- Proven Industry Experience – A background in environmental management, sustainability, or compliance, ideally within construction or civil engineering.
- Deep Understanding of Regulations – Knowledge of ISO 14001, EMS, and environmental legislation, with the ability to apply these effectively in real-world scenarios.
- Data-Driven & Engaging Communicator – The ability to interpret environmental data and communicate insights in a way that influences change and inspires action.
- Self-Motivated & Solutions-Focused – A proactive approach with the ability to drive improvements, problem-solve, and manage multiple projects with confidence.
