Shirley Parsons is partnering with a leading main contractor to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the delivery of a major project in North London, while also contributing to a wider portfolio of projects across London. The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will take the lead on all health and safety matters for a flagship project in North London, working closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and senior stakeholders to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance across site activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a proactive health & safety culture across project teams
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety reviews
- Provide professional advice and guidance to operational teams and management
- Support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are communicated effectively
- Review RAMS and monitor site compliance with company and legislative requirements
- Build strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Support wider business operations across London projects when required
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Health & Safety Manager within the construction industry
- Construction and/or Civil Engineering experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and industry best practice
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) as a minimum
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to influence positive behavioural change on site
- Confident, proactive, and visible safety leader with a strong site presence
