The Opportunity

A leading global consultancy is seeking an experienced CDM Advisor to join its growing Health & Safety team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with strong CDM 2015 knowledge and previous construction site experience who is looking for a role offering genuine autonomy, variety, and career progression.

Working across a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors, designers, and project teams, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations while influencing best practice throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement with 4 days based in London (office and project sites) and 1 day working from home, together with full autonomy to manage your own diary and workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver CDM Advisor and Principal Designer services across multiple construction projects.
  • Advise clients, design teams, and contractors on their duties under the CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Review and assess design risk management processes and design risk registers.
  • Attend project, design, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Undertake site visits and inspections to monitor health and safety compliance.
  • Support project teams in identifying and mitigating construction risks during design and delivery phases.
  • Prepare and review pre-construction information and health and safety files.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
  • Promote a positive health, safety, and wellbeing culture across projects.

About You

We are looking for candidates who possess

  • Proven experience working as a CDM Advisor, Principal Designer Advisor, CDM Consultant, or similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Previous experience working on construction sites.
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, design risk management, and health & safety legislation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
  • Membership of IOSH, APS, or a similar professional body would be advantageous.
  • Relevant health and safety qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent.
