Regional Health & Safety Advisor – NI Based in Greater Belfast – Hybrid/field based role. Leading Industrial Manufacturing business, part of a wider UK&I organisation.
Job Overview
As the Health & Safety Advisor, reporting to the Regional Manager, you will have responsibility for reviewing and implementing Safety, Health, and Welfare programmes across multiple units and sites in Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Positively and actively drive towards an embedded Health, Safety, and Welfare culture, creating a continually improving focus on preventative actions and reduction of accidents and incidents.
- Assist and advise employees and sub-contractors to ensure full compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
- Liaise with Site Managers to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date on site and that relevant personnel are provided with information, instruction, and training.
- Drive a safety culture by championing best practice, conducting training for new and existing employees, and suggesting improvements to existing training.
- Ensure consultation procedures exist with staff through regular safety meetings and discussions.
- Conduct compliance monitoring, auditing, and planning of strategy and delivery of cultural and behavioural change.
- Assist with root cause analysis of accidents and prevent recurrence, ensuring all reportable accidents are notified to the Health & Safety Authority.
- Compile weekly and monthly data as required, ensuring information is effectively communicated to relevant personnel.
Education, Experience & Competencies
An appropriate third-level qualification in Health and Safety is required. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar Health & Safety role within Manufacturing and/or Construction sectors. Full driving licence.
