We are working with a UK wide manufacturing organisation to recruit a Head of Health & Safety. This key role will serve as the operational lead, driving strategy and overseeing Health & Safety initiatives across the whole business. Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Director, the Head of Health & Safety will be responsible for shaping and implementing comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental strategies while leading continuous improvement efforts.

The Head of Health & Safety will support and mentor divisional operational teams across a diverse portfolio of sites all over the UK. The Head of Health & Safety will be responsible for:

  • Implement and maintain Health & Safety policies, ensuring alignment with global group standards.
  • You will be a hands-on leader, understanding where you can make an immediate impact and what the long-term goals will be.
  • You will drive cultural change, continuing to bring health & safety and compliance to the forefront.
  • Lead initiatives around traffic management and vehicle movement safety.
  • Coaching, managing and developing operational stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and drive preventative measures.

The Head of Health & Safety will have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working within any high risk environment.
  • Be an enabler able to demonstrate prior examples of driving health & safety initiatives.
  • Must have experience managing and developing cultural change.
  • Experience maintaining management systems such as ISO14001, ISO 45001.
  • Proven leadership skills, the ability to engage at all levels is vital.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence
