Job Overview

Reporting to the H&S Director, the Country Safety Systems Manager will be responsible for managing the SMS as a single system to ensure all areas of Safety Management are integrated and work in a seamless manner. The Systems Manager will also be responsible for driving an integrated and standard approach to systems including: policy, procedures, processes and methodologies, training and operational controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous review of our Health & Systems across Ireland.
  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of our projects, build strong collaborative relationships across all levels of the organisation, promoting engagement, accountability and a positive safety culture.
  • Drive and support development and maintenance of the H&S Management System as per the legislative requirements across ROI and NI and align with our client requirements.
  • Carry out management system audits and inspections and manage a programme of corrective/preventative actions for continuous improvement to ensure the highest standards.
  • Act as the Management Representative for the H&S Management System.
  • Monitor, review and continuously improve the Integrated Management System to ensure ongoing compliance and operational effectiveness across the Island of Ireland.
  • Support the implementation and development of risk management processes, including Risk Assessment, COSHH Assessment, CDM and IE Compliance Audits.
  • Assist with the review and approval of our Supply Chain to ensure the information is in date and maintained.

Education, Experience & Competencies:

  • Extensive working knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare (Construction) Regulations 2013, CDM Regulations and UK Legislation.
  • Minimum of a Level 7 or higher qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Qualified and experienced Auditor on the ISO Standards.
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing and managing ISO-aligned management systems (ISO 45001 essential; ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 desirable).
