We're excited to be working with a leading UK-based construction company that delivers some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile construction projects. They're currently looking for a Senior Sustainability Manager to join their team in a newly formed business unit. With a primary focus on Sizewell C and other major infrastructure sites, this is your chance to make a real impact in an organisation that champions sustainability, innovation, and collaboration. (Occasional travel to Sizewell, Suffolk but can be based in London)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Driving Sustainability Strategy - Lead the delivery of sustainability targets across high-priority projects, aligning with group-wide ESG commitments.
- Carbon & Certification Leadership - Manage carbon budgets and green building certifications (BREEAM, WELL, LEED) from design through to completion.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to embed sustainability into every stage of the project.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities for circular economy initiatives and low-carbon solutions, driving innovation across the business.
- Data & Performance Management - Own sustainability data collection, validation, and reporting to ensure robust performance tracking and compliance.
Who They’re Looking For:
- Experienced Sustainability Leader - Proven track record in managing sustainability across large-scale construction projects, especially in carbon and certification.
- Technical Expertise - Knowledge of life cycle assessments, carbon tools (e.g. OneClick LCA), and circular economy implementation.
- Confident Communicator - Able to lead meetings, deliver training, and present to both technical and non-technical audiences with clarity and impact.
- Collaborative Innovator - Passionate about driving change, sharing knowledge, and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Qualified & Committed - Holds relevant qualifications (e.g. BREEAM AP, CSCS card) and ideally WELL AP, LEED AP or membership of professional bodies like IEMA or CIBSE.
