An exciting opportunity to join a vibrant and ambitious Music department in an innovative and rapidly growing school. Shireland CBSO Academy, opened in September 2023, is a unique institution established in partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. As the country’s first state school to open in partnership with an arts organisation, our academy offers an ambitious, creative and inclusive environment where every student’s potential is nurtured and celebrated, with music at the heart of our identity.

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Music and Music Technology to join our highly aspirational Music department. This role would suit either an experienced practitioner or an Early Career Teacher eager to make a real impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality music and music technology education at KS3, KS4 and KS5, contributing to the continued development of a rich, rigorous and inspiring curriculum that reflects both academic excellence and creative practice.

You will be joining a collaborative, reflective and ambitious team who are deeply committed to outstanding music education, high expectations and widening access to arts education for all students. You will contribute to shaping a curriculum that champions powerful knowledge, practical musicianship, performance, composition and critical listening, ensuring high levels of challenge and engagement for all learners.
