SALARY: Band F SCP 26 – 31 £37,280 - £41,772 per annum pro rata (Actual salary - £35,129 - £39,362 per annum)
HOURS: 37 hours per week, Term Time + 3 weeks

At Shireland CBSO Academy we require an enthusiastic, hard‑working, compassionate individual to join our award‑winning SEND Department. We are looking for an Assistant SENCO who will support the SENCO in the smooth operation and day‑to‑day running of the Inclusion Department.
Key Responsibilities
- EHCP and SEND Administration: oversee and support the administration of EHCP annual reviews, maintain the SEND register, conduct daily attendance checks for EHCP and CLA students, and manage documentation and meeting organisation.
- Student Support and Accessibility: facilitate the development and delivery of tailored programmes such as ASDAN, ensure accessibility for students with physical or sensory needs, assist in writing risk assessments and PEEPs, and coordinate initial assessments for new admissions.
- Examination Access Arrangements: provide and organise examination access arrangements, including evidence collation, file notes, liaison with SENCo and Exams Officer, and deliver related staff training.
- Transition and Relationship Building: build relationships with primary and post‑16 settings, support transition processes (Y6/Y7 and in‑year admissions), create pupil passports, and assist SEND students moving into post‑16 education.
- Departmental Coordination and Liaison: coordinate the internal referral process, manage TA timetables, organise staff and visitor meetings, maintain communication logs, deputise for or assist the SENCo, and participate in recruitment within the Inclusion department.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate
- Have experience working with SEND students
- Have a working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

- Be able to work in partnership with outside agencies
- Able to inspire, motivate and enthuse pupils
- Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others
- Be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate
