A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, creative and skilled teacher of Product Design to inspire students within our award‑winning department. The department is a core subject at GCSE and the most popular option at A level, with over 80 students studying Product Design in the Sixth Form. It is amongst the highest performing subjects in the school, achieving outstanding GCSE and A level results, and is well resourced, constantly developing and adapting to new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Teach KS3, KS4 and A Level Product Design, delivering projects across these key stages.
- Design and lead student‑centered projects that reflect student creativity.
- Support pupils’ learning in lessons and through extracurricular involvement as appropriate.
Skills and Experience
- High‑level practical skills to facilitate pupils’ learning in Product Design, with creative design skills.
- Proficiency in 2D Design, CAD, solid understanding of CAD/CAM, use of laser cutters, 3D printers and various CNC machines.
- Experience using Solidworks desirable.
- Familiarity with using the department’s facilities: multiple CNC Trend Routers, CNC lathes, metal lathes, wood lathes, industrial‑standard 3D printers, laser cutters, workshops, CNC room and design studio.
