Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Psychological Therapist (BACP/UKCP/NCPS/BABCP or equivalent) to work within specialist CYP residential services based in/around Birmingham.

Role snapshot:

  • The candidate appointed will be delivering assessments and therapeutic interventions to children and young people, and developing trauma informed practice.
  • You will also offer consultations, reflective practice, and deliver training.
  • Additionally, you will attend and contribute to peer supervision, and complete care planning/input into routine assessment.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help develop this therapy service contributing to the wider company’s centre of excellence in the field of developmental trauma and attachment.

Contract type: permanent

Hours: 3 – 5 days per week can be considered

Salary: £30,000 - £50,000 FTE

Experience required:

  • The ideal candidate will be accredited or working towards accreditation with the BACP/UKCP/NCPS/BABCP and have experience of working with young people with complex presentations eg a CAMHS, LAC or YOS.
  • You must have previous residential experience.
  • It's also desirable that you hold experience in therapeutic models such as DBT, CFT, DDP and/or mentalisation based therapy.
