Job Description

Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a Head of Counselling (Counsellor or Psychotherapist) to join a charity in Southwest Kent, CQC rated Good.

**This is a hybrid post**

Role snapshot:

The candidate appointed will be employed as the Head of Counselling for an outpatient’s clinic (charity) who provide face to face affordable psychodynamic counselling. This centre offers long-term and time-limited counselling, a bereavement support service for CYP and an EAP service. In addition, under the membership of the BACP, this centre offers professional clinical training (foundation to diploma level).

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating the clinical services along side working with the Head of Training to recruit students into the centres training programmes. The successful candidate will line manage clinical supervisors, volunteer counsellors and oversee trainee clinical placements.

Contract type – permanent

Hours – 20 hours per week (hybrid working, 2 days on site)

Salary – £45,500 FTE

Experience required:

Counsellors and Psychotherapists applying will have completed professional training in psychodynamic, psychoanalytic psychotherapy or psychodynamic counselling along with hold UKCP registration, BPC registration or BACP Accreditation. Due to the seniority of the role, extensive post qualification experience and leadership experience is required.
