Overview
As a Building Surveyor in our team, you will play a key role in assessing and processing building and development applications, ensuring they meet all statutory requirements and align with Council policies. You will also provide clear, accurate, and professional guidance to customers, helping them navigate compliance requirements effectively.

Responsibilities
- Assess and process building and development applications to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Council policies
- Provide clear, accurate, and professional guidance to customers on compliance requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement of customer-focused building services
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support positive development outcomes

- Base annual salary between $84,464 โ $90,000 per annum dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications
- Annual leave loading of 17.5%

Qualifications / Skills
- Behaviour that positively demonstrates the Shireโs HEART of: Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect and Teamwork
- Level 2 Building Surveying qualification or progress towards, and/or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of applicable legislation (Local Government Act 1995, Building Regulations 2012, Building Act 2011, Building Code of Australia and related codes and standards)
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively
- Commitment to delivering exceptional internal and external customer service
- Competent in MS Office (Word & Outlook)
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team
Relevant work experience in Local Government building or planning, and/or the building construction industry will be advantageous.
