Salary: Up to Β£39,780 per annum (inclusive of sleeps)

Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)

We are working in partnership with a provider of children's services to recruit a Senior Residential Children's Worker for their home in Bootle, Merseyside. You will be part of a dedicated team supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) within a nurturing residential environment, whilst taking on additional leadership and mentoring responsibilities. What we're ideally looking for:

  • Experience supporting children with EBD and/or learning disabilities
  • Supervisory or shift leading experience within a residential childcare setting
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Full UK driving licence (desirable, not essential)
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts and act as a positive role model to the staff team
  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs
  • Mentor and support junior members of staff in their practice
  • Encourage and support children to maintain family and friendship links
  • Promote integration with the local community through clubs and activities
  • Support children with all aspects of daily living
  • Safeguard and protect vulnerable children, reporting concerns appropriately
  • Contribute to care planning, record keeping, and multi-agency meetings
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals
