We currently have a Nursery Room Leader opportunity at a Nursery in Sunbury. This is a great opportunity to join a Nursery full of friendly staff with a capacity for over 90 children and offers great training as well as career progression opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Level 3 Early years qualification and experience of working with children aged 0 - 5 years of age. Even if you do not have previous experience as a Room Leader, with the training they offer, they can get you up to speed to be able to do the job.
This role is for the over 2's room and as the Room Leader you will have responsibility for the staff within the room and oversee the activity planning of the room.
If you have an enthusiastic and positive attitude along with excellent communication and written skills, and the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with children, parents and staff, then this may be the right opportunity for you.
The successful applicants will need:
- A minimum NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ in Childcare at Level 3.
- Experience of working with children aged 0 - 5 years old.
- Experience of planning activities.
- Good knowledge of EYFS, Safeguarding and First Aid.
- Knowledge/experience of meeting the needs of children and families.
- Experience of maintaining accurate records and children’s profiles.
- Ability to demonstrate verbal reasoning and listening skills.
- Ability to build relationships with children.
Room Leader Duties include but are not limited to:
- Viewing planning sheets and record keeping of all the staff in your room.
- Ensuring routines are being followed and run smoothly.
- Ensuring new decisions are taken on board and maintained in the room at all times.
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed by all staff.
- Being an excellent role model to the other staff in your room.
