We are now seeking an experiencedData & Analytics Product Owner to join us on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will bring a strong technical expertise and a desire to develop in a friendly and supportive insurance company. This is a great opportunity to work with an experienced team, gaining valuable technical and business knowledge while growing into a more strategic role. You’ll be working on cutting edge technologies from the early stages of an exciting project, helping to shape and enhance our data platform. We also have a hybrid working model (minimum 2 days in the office).

Overall responsibility of the role:

Take ownership of the Clubs data platform, overseeing the end-to-end process from source data to presentation, ensuring data integrity, governance, usability, and performance meet business needs.

Manage and prioritise the Data & Analytics (D&A) backlog, collaborating with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, ensure data accuracy and timeliness, and enhance business insights.

Role responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the design of data models through different data domains that can support analytical processes and reporting.
  • Accountable for up-to-date technical documentation in an Enterprise Architecture tool.
  • Responsible for prioritising the backlog of work for our Data Lakehouse and BI tool based on business and technical priorities/dependencies.
  • Ensure the data flows are documented and data marts reconciliation from source to reporting layer is certified.
  • Lead and collaborate with a multi-skilled team to deliver against the D&A strategy.
  • Be an ambassador for the art of the possible, ensure that structured analytical solutions are scalable and meet the business objectives whether tactical or strategic.
  • Identify and assess internal and external data sources to derive business insights, tactical decision making and hypothesis.
  • Develop fit-for-purpose, resilient, scalable and future-proof data services to meet user needs.
  • Implement data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytics and business intelligence (BI) systems.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators and metrics that measure the performance of the data platform.

Skills & experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • Experienced with cloud technologies focusing on Microsoft platform. E.g. Microsoft Azure Synapse Analytics, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, or Microsoft Azure Databricks
  • Proficient in using tools like Python, R, or SQL to automate repetitive tasks, conduct analyses, and develop custom solutions.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps and CI/CD concepts would be beneficial.
  • Prior experience with data warehousing, modelling and analysis.
  • Good knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management; builds strong relationships and communicates effectively across all levels.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven; able to manage workload and deliver independently or as part of a team.
  • Solid understanding of project management, SDLC, and data visualisation principles.
