Location: Remote – United Kingdom, with the ability to travel regularly to fulfillment and hub sites in Manchester and Birmingham, UK, and travel to the US and Australia as needed. Travel required: Up to 80% travel expectations.
Role Description: As the Process Engineering Manager at ShipBob, you will implement the operational processes within defined functions (Inbound, Outbound, VAS/B2B). You will lead the development of new processes and guide incremental improvements at both the people/process level and within the Warehouse Management System (WMS). Acting as a bridge between Product/Engineering teams and Operators, you will advocate for quality and the merchant experience, influencing functional design and roadmap prioritization. Your communication and implementation scope includes both ShipBob-owned sites and partner-run facilities. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Process Engineering, who also serves as the backup for this role.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Operations and Product leaders to design and roadmap changes to core operational functions.
- Utilize data to drive decision-making within operational processes and improvements.
- Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs), stakeholder communication, and operational rollouts.
- Communicate procedure changes clearly to the Operations team.
- Work with Operations leaders to develop and manage plans for new processes.
- Organize and lead training sessions for team members.
- Plan detailed schedules for process rollouts.
- Collect and relay feedback from operators to the product team.
- Manage transitions and certify employees through a Training Certification program.
- Deliver comprehensive reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Travel regularly to fulfillment and hub sites to observe processes and establish training sessions.
- Comply to all food safety and compliance policies and regulations.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.
What you’ll bring to the table:
- 3-5 years of experience in Fulfillment Operations, Process Improvement, and/or Program Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in Engineering, Mathematics, or similarly technical field.
- Experience with LEAN/Six Sigma in production environments.
- Established track record of taking ownership and driving results, especially in highly ambiguous situations.
- High degree of curiosity, problem solving, and initiative.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with an audience of Senior company leaders.
- A passion to grow as a leader and influence the ShipBob network and direction of ShipBob Operations.
