Maintenance Assistant in Truro

We're getting ready to open the doors to Elysium St Mawes, our beautiful new boutique hotel in one of Cornwall's most stunning coastal locations, and we're looking for a practical, enthusiastic and hands-on Maintenance Assistant to join our founding team!

The Role

As our Maintenance Assistant, you'll play an important part in keeping Elysium St Mawes looking its very best. Working alongside our Head of Maintenance, you'll help look after all areas of the hotel, from guest bedrooms and public spaces to our restaurant, spa and outdoor areas.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days will be the same! Whether you're carrying out minor repairs, helping with routine maintenance or making sure everything is in perfect working order, you'll take real pride in creating a safe, comfortable and beautifully maintained environment for our guests and colleagues.

What You'll Be Doing

• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs throughout the hotel.
• Supporting with painting, decorating, basic plumbing, carpentry and general upkeep.
• Helping maintain our guest bedrooms, restaurant, bar, spa and public areas.
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and colleagues.
• Supporting planned preventative maintenance to keep everything running smoothly.
• Identifying and reporting potential issues before they become problems.
• Helping maintain our outdoor spaces and hotel facilities.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to guests.
• Working closely with the Head of Maintenance and wider hotel team.

• Is reliable, proactive and happy to get stuck in.

• Enjoys variety and is willing to learn new skills.
• Understands the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Previous maintenance experience would be ideal, whether that's in hotels, property maintenance, facilities or general trades.
