We are now seeking a Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs Scientific Lead to provide end‑to‑end scientific leadership for one or more priority antibiotic or antifungal assets. In this highly influential global role, you will take a hands‑on approach to scientific asset management, owning the day‑to‑day scientific strategy while assessing emerging data, competitor intelligence and external insights. You will translate this information into clear, actionable guidance for Global Medical Affairs and cross‑functional stakeholders, partnering closely with global and regional teams to enable aligned, evidence‑based decision‑making that supports the optimal long‑term value of each asset.

About the Role
You will hold overall scientific leadership responsibility for assigned antibiotic or antifungal assets. You will work in a highly hands‑on capacity, partnering closely with global and regional cross‑functional teams to ensure scientific insights, competitive understanding and evidence generation directly inform global strategy and execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and evolving the global scientific narrative, platform and long‑term positioning for each asset
- Critically and continuously assessing scientific data, competitor activity and external intelligence to interpret implications, identify risks and opportunities, and define clear strategic responses
- Synthesising complex scientific insights into clear, actionable guidance and “so‑what” plans for Medical Affairs and commercial teams
- Leading global scientific dissemination, including publications strategy, congress planning and scientific content development
- Providing scientific leadership into integrated evidence plans, lifecycle evidence generation and data interpretation
- Leading external scientific engagement, including KOL strategy, advisory boards and research collaborations
- Ensuring scientific activities are delivered in line with global governance, compliance and publication standards
Who Are We Looking For?
We are looking for a credible global scientific leader with strong experience across antibiotics or antifungal therapies, and a proven track record of hands‑on scientific asset leadership within Medical Affairs. You will bring:
- Expert experience within the pharmaceutical industry in antibiotics, antifungals or related anti‑infective therapy areas
- Demonstrated ownership of scientific strategy at asset level, from data interpretation to positioning and lifecycle planning
- Strong capability in assessing scientific and competitor intelligence and translating insights into actionable guidance
- Experience providing science‑led input to commercial strategy and decision‑making
- Ability to work effectively across global, cross‑functional teams
- Confidence engaging externally with KOLs and scientific experts
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex science into clear messages
