Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Shinfield Vets. Located in Reading, Shinfield Vets is a trusted, well-established practice with over 50 years of experience caring for pets. Proudly accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, we are dedicated to delivering the highest quality care. We are also honoured to hold silver level accreditation as a Cat Friendly Clinic, reflecting our commitment to feline welfare. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a rewarding career with a supportive team.

In your role, you will rotate through different areas, including theatre, inpatient care, and nurse-led clinics, gaining varied and rewarding experience. We’ll encourage you to grow, take on new responsibilities, and even help shape how we work together as a practice. About us

At Shinfield Vets, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit, supportive team where every voice is valued. Our dedicated team consists of 4 experienced vets, 4 registered veterinary nurses, and 3 student veterinary nurses, and 1 practice director. Our Practice Director, Jo, has been with the practice for over 20 years, providing exceptional support and guidance to the team.

Responsibilities

In your role as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, responsibilities include:

  • Working in theatre, inpatient care, and nurse-led clinics as part of a rotating schedule
  • Contributing to high standards of patient care and team collaboration

What we are looking for

We’re looking for a passionate and proactive RVN who thrives on variety, embraces teamwork, and always puts patient care first. Clinical coaching experience is a bonus, but not essential.

Working hours

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week. The role also includes participation in a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, between 8:00 to 17:00.
