Are you a passionate and reliable individual who enjoys preparing nutritious meals that truly make a difference? We are a friendly 15-bed residential care home in Southend-on-Sea, and we’re looking for a Home cook to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Senior Chef and report to the Registered Manager, playing a key part in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Assisting in the preparation and cooking of daily meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
  • Supporting the Senior Chef in planning menus and ensuring variety and nutrition.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety in the kitchen.
  • Monitoring stock levels and helping with ordering as needed.
  • Collaborating with care staff to ensure positive mealtime experiences for residents.

About You:

  • Experience cooking, ideally in a care or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of specialist dietary needs (e.g. soft diets, diabetes-friendly meals).
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher).
  • A team player with a caring attitude and a passion for cooking.
  • Reliable, organised, and able to follow guidance from the Senior Chef and Manager.
