We are working with a welcoming primary school in Havering that is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil with PMLD. This part-time, long-term role is ideal for someone with a calm, patient and nurturing approach who is experienced in supporting pupils with complex needs, including personal care and non-verbal communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support for a KS2 pupil with PMLD
- Support personal care needs with dignity and sensitivity
- Use alternative communication methods to support a non-verbal pupil
- Promote engagement, comfort and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
- Maintain a safe, supportive and structured learning environment
About You
- Experience supporting pupils with PMLD or complex needs
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Patient, compassionate and reliable
- Able to follow care plans, EHCP targets and guidance from professionals
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
