THE TELEGRAPH BUILDING is a venue like no other. Conference centre, comedy, dance music, live music, we bring in talent from across the world. We are looking for a VENUE MANAGER to join our team.

As Venue Manager, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience at a General Manager level
  • Excellent communication skills and a personable approach to working with your team
  • The mindset that the customer experience is everything to us
  • Experience of high volumes within late night environment
  • Excellent focus on customer service and communication skills
  • Exceptional planning, implementing and organisational skills
  • Confidence in your experience with P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, cash banking and stock management

JOB DESCRIPTION: Telegraph is a mixture of days, evenings and late nights into the wee hours.

OPERATIONAL

  • Ensure all company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
  • Understand and implement health & safety and food hygiene regulations whilst on duty.
  • Uphold standards of quality, presentation and cleanliness throughout the premises at all times.
  • Ensure all legislation is adhered to including licensing laws, fire safety etc.
  • Ensure all club nights, live shows and any other events are effectively managed to the highest of standards.
  • The ability to work on Excel spreadsheets.

FINANCIAL

  • Complete accurately any daily administration, cashing up and banking procedures.
  • Exercise financial control through labour and stock management.
  • Adhere to the company financial controls, complete required paperwork and operate all transactions highlighted in the company cash handling policy.
  • Ensure all staff placed under your management receive regular and prompt training in compliance with company standards and where applicable by law.
  • Manage all members of staff when on shift to ensure food standards and quality of service are maintained.
  • To identify, encourage and maximise staff performance with training.
  • To participate in carrying out staff assessments and appraisals.
  • To identify poor performance/conduct issues and take appropriate action.
  • To encourage and hold team briefs before the start of shifts to ensure quality communication.

LEGISLATION

  • Comply with all legislation regarding health & safety and hygiene licensing laws and ensure these laws are followed throughout the business.
  • Manage any further implementation of any additional legal requirements stated by the company or related legal authorities.
