Adept Resourcing are recruiting for a Melter / Furnace Operator on behalf of one of our manufacturing clients. This is a hands-on shop floor role working in a specialist furnace department within a heavy manufacturing environment. If you’re used to working around heat, heavy materials and strict safety procedures, this could be right up your street.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll be part of a team responsible for the safe and efficient operation of furnace equipment.
  • Typical duties include:
    • Operating and supporting furnace melting processes
    • Preparing furnace charges and loading materials
    • Handling moulds, ingots, electrodes and crucibles
    • Using overhead cranes and forklift trucks
    • Supporting mould preparation and furnace cleaning
    • Maintaining strict safety, housekeeping and QA standards
    • Completing melt records and production documentation

What we’re looking for:

This is a shop floor role, so we’re looking for someone comfortable in a safety critical manufacturing environment. Good backgrounds include:

  • Steel / metals manufacturing
  • Foundry or casting environments
