Shillito Group are recruiting for a client in Rotherham who need someone practical, reliable and switched on. This is a hands-on role covering inspection, despatch and material movement within a busy manufacturing environment. You will be checking incoming and finished products, making sure materials are correctly identified and handling the paperwork when something is not right. You will also be moving material around site using FLTs, pendant cranes and sideloaders.

The role will include:

  • Inspecting incoming materials and finished products
  • Checking product identification and traceability
  • Raising paperwork for non-conforming products
  • Supporting final inspection before despatch
  • Loading, unloading and moving materials
  • Using FLTs, pendant cranes and sideloaders
  • Highlighting issues to Production Control
  • Working to strict quality and health and safety procedures
  • Supporting improvement activity within the department

You do not need to come from a pure quality background. Someone from warehousing, manufacturing, engineering, steel or another heavy industrial environment could suit this well, as long as you are used to working safely, following procedures and paying close attention to detail. Experience with FLTs, pendant cranes or sideloaders would be a strong advantage. There is also genuine room to progress. You could develop further into a quality focused role or machine specific roles. This is a permanent position working alternating weeks of 6am to 2pm and 10am to 6pm.
