Shillito Group is recruiting an experienced CNC Setter/Operator for an established precision engineering business in Sheffield. We're looking for someone who knows their way around a machine shop and can confidently take responsibility for setting, machining and checking their own work.
What you'll be doing:
- Setting and operating CNC machinery, predominantly VMC Machines
- Working accurately from engineering drawings
- Making programme edits and adjustments where required
- Selecting tooling and setting offsets
- Producing and inspecting first-off components
- Machining components to tight tolerances
- Carrying out dimensional and quality checks throughout production
- Keeping machines running efficiently and maintaining good shop-floor standards
What we need:
This isn't purely an operator role. You'll need proven CNC setting experience and be comfortable taking a job from drawing through to a correctly machined component. We're looking for someone who can:
- Read and understand engineering drawings
- Work confidently to tight tolerances
- Make programme adjustments
- Set tooling and offsets
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection
- Take responsibility for the quality of their own work
