Shillito Group are recruiting for their client for a Quality Controller to join an established manufacturing business in Rotherham. This is a hands-on quality role working within a busy decorating and production environment.

You'll be responsible for checking finished containers, carrying out quality inspections and making sure products meet the required standard before they move on. There is also a general operative element to the role, but this is mainly keeping the area clean and tidy, looking after machinery and helping keep the production environment running properly.

Salary & Working Hours

  • £36,000 per annum based on the current 48-hour working week
  • Equivalent to £14.42 per hour
  • Current shift: Monday to Thursday, 6am to 6pm
  • There is a view for the shift pattern to move to Monday to Friday, 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm
  • If the shift pattern changes, salary would reduce in line with the lower 37-hour working week
  • Permanent position

The role

  • Carrying out quality checks on finished decorated containers
  • Completing AQL assessments
  • Carrying out adhesion and durability testing
  • Checking print quality against specification
  • Completing visual inspections
  • Recording test results and batch information accurately
  • Identifying and reporting quality issues
  • Supporting general warehouse and production activity
  • Keeping the working area clean and tidy
  • Helping ensure machinery is looked after properly
  • Supporting with packing and other general operative duties when required
