Ready for a role where your expertise carries real weight? Whether you're feeling undervalued in a larger corporate or simply looking for a business where your contribution carries real weight, this could be the move you’ve been waiting for. Shillito Group are working exclusively with a highly regarded independent Chartered Surveyors practice based near Retford to recruit an ambitious Residential Chartered Surveyor.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team across a parent and several private companies offering the best of both worlds. You’ll have the autonomy and culture of an independent practice alongside the stability and reputation of a well-established, localised business.

This opportunity will suit a Residential Chartered Surveyor who takes pride in delivering exceptional work, enjoys building lasting client relationships and wants to play a meaningful role in the continued success of the business with a genuine route to partnership on the table.

The Opportunity

This isn’t just another Residential Chartered Surveyor position. Our client is looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys getting stuck in and sees the bigger picture. Someone who values building long-term relationships, takes pride in delivering an exceptional service and wants to contribute to the continued success of the business.

Alongside delivering high-quality residential surveys, you’ll play an active role in the continued growth of the practice. Whether that’s developing relationships with local professionals, identifying new opportunities or helping strengthen an already outstanding reputation, you’ll enjoy being part of something bigger than your own workload.

With the support of a dedicated booking office managing your diary, you’ll have the time and freedom to focus on what you do best - delivering first-class surveys, building trusted relationships and providing an exceptional service to clients.

If you’re looking for a role where your contribution is recognised, your ideas are valued and there’s genuine opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing independent practice, I’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Residential Chartered Surveyor, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Undertaking RICS Level 2 Homebuyer Reports.
  • Completing RICS Level 3 Building Surveys.
  • Carrying out Mortgage Valuations (subject to lender panel accreditation).
  • Producing clear, accurate and RICS-compliant reports.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors and other professionals.
  • Building and maintaining referral relationships across the local market.
  • Identifying opportunities to support the continued growth of the practice.
  • Representing the business professionally while helping maintain its excellent reputation.

About You

To be successful as a Residential Chartered Surveyor, you’ll ideally have:

  • MRICS qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience independently undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 residential surveys.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A personable and professional approach with clients.
  • Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in contributing to the continued success of the business.
  • A full UK driving licence and your own transport.

Applications are also welcomed from experienced AssocRICS Surveyors who can demonstrate strong residential surveying experience.

Why This Opportunity?

This Residential Chartered Surveyor opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys the autonomy to focus on delivering quality work, values long-term relationships and wants to be part of a business where their contribution genuinely makes a difference.

In return, you’ll receive:

  • Car allowance or mileage paid.
  • Performance-related bonus.
  • Office-based or hybrid working.
  • The support of a dedicated booking office, allowing you to focus on surveying rather than diary management.
  • Ongoing CPD and professional development.
  • A supportive, family-run working environment.
  • Genuine long-term career progression within a genuine route to partnership.

Interested?

Opportunities like this don’t come to market very often. If you’re looking for a long-term move with a respected independent practice where your contribution will genuinely be recognised, I’d encourage you to get in touch.

If you’re an experienced Residential Chartered Surveyor looking for your next career move, I’d love to have a confidential conversation with you.
