Raw Materials Co-ordinator
Day Shift 40 hours per week Manufacturing Environment
The Role
Reporting to the Raw Materials Co-Ordinator you will play a key role in ensuring raw material availability aligns with production requirements and quality standards. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain accurate stock control, support dispatch activity and uphold world-class housekeeping and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-ordinating and managing external raw material deliveries and internal revert movements
- Carrying out QA checks and material conformance acceptance, including use of XRF/Niton analysers
- Receipting and issuing materials on internal systems for costing and stock control
- Supporting material allocation using a least-cost mix approach
- Maintaining tight control of stock levels, assisting with stock audits and stock counts
- Accurate weighing, identification and storage of raw materials and consumables
- Managing revert material, including segregation, packaging and preparation for production
- Receiving goods against delivery documentation and maintaining prime quality records
- Supporting despatch activity using the SFDC system
- Operating overhead cranes, FLT and side loader equipment
- Completing self-audits, improvement activities and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
- Providing basic cover for the Raw Materials Manager when required
Skills & Experience
Essential
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong housekeeping standards and safety awareness
- Operational understanding of material handling or revert processes
- Experience using Microsoft Office and production/stock systems
- Ability to work independently for extended periods
- Organised, proactive and forward-thinking approach
Desirable
- Remote/pendant overhead crane licence (CITB/AITT or equivalent)
- Counterbalance FLT licence and/or side loader experience
- Experience in a manufacturing, metals or heavy industrial environment
- Basic understanding of materials or chemical elements
- Flexible, logical thinker with a positive attitude to learning and improvement
