Crane and Forge Operative Sheffield Rotating shifts: 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm Shillito Group are recruiting for a Crane and Forge Operative to join a well established heavy engineering business in Sheffield. This is a strong opportunity for someone with crane, slinging, despatch or material handling experience who wants to build a proper long term career. You will be working across the forge and heat treatment departments, moving large materials safely, supporting despatch operations and helping keep production running smoothly. As you build your experience, there will be opportunities to develop your skills across crane operations, heat treatment, forging and other areas of the wider manufacturing operation. The role Your responsibilities will include: Operating overhead cab cranes Operating pendant and remote-controlled cranes Carrying out slinging duties Loading and unloading material using cranes and forklift trucks Completing pre shift crane checks Preparing material for despatch Completing despatch paperwork Inspecting incoming material Recording inspection information for subcontract work Updating the internal computer system Supporting heat treatment operations Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standardsThis is not a role where you will be left doing the same task every day.
