This is a senior role with full responsibility for factory performance across production, people, quality, cost, maintenance, stock and continuous improvement.
The biggest thing they need is a strong character.
Someone who can walk into a busy manufacturing environment, take ownership and make decisions. You need to be comfortable challenging people, holding managers accountable and making tough calls when performance, standards or behaviours are not where they need to be.
This is not a role for someone who wants to manage from behind a desk.
You will be visible across the factory, close to production and expected to understand what is happening, why it is happening and what needs to change.
You will also have responsibility for the manufacturing budget and P&L, with a real focus on labour efficiency, scrap, downtime, material usage, productivity and cost.
They are looking for someone with:
- Strong experience running a substantial manufacturing operation
- Experience managing managers, supervisors and large shop floor teams
- The confidence to make difficult decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Strong commercial awareness and experience with manufacturing budgets and P&L
- A solid understanding of production, maintenance, quality and continuous improvement
- Experience improving productivity, reducing waste and driving accountability
The right person will be firm, visible and commercially switched on. Someone who can get hold of a factory, set expectations and improve performance without creating unnecessary noise.
