The Role of a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Mechanical fault finding, maintenance, and repair on heavy industrial machinery
- Planned and reactive maintenance across production equipment
- Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, and rotating machinery
- Responding to breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Working closely with electrical engineers and production teams
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
The Ideal Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
- Apprentice-trained or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong mechanical fault-finding experience in an industrial or heavy engineering environment
- Good working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
- Welding or fabrication skills advantageous but not essential
- Background in heavy engineering, manufacturing, steel, foundry, or similar sectors
- Willingness to work a rotating days and nights shift pattern
