Adept are recruiting on behalf of a serious engineering business based in Middlesbrough. This isn’t light machining. This is high precision work on centrifugally cast components supplying Aerospace, Defence, Energy and Chemical sectors.
If you’re a proper time served CNC machinist who can set and run machines to tight tolerances, this is worth your attention.
The RoleYou will be:
- Setting and operating CNC Turning and/or Milling machines
- Programming jaws, fixtures and small batch runs
- Proving out first-off components alongside Production Engineering
- Running batch work to SOPs and routing instructions
- Machining alloy steels, nickel-based alloys, super alloys, stainless and duplex materials
- Carrying out in-process inspection and first-off checks
- Reading engineering drawings (metric & imperial)
- Working closely with Production, Engineering, Inspection and Maintenance
This is skilled machining. Not button pushing.
What They’re Looking For- Time-served CNC Machinist (or equivalent qualification)
- Strong experience in CNC Turning and/or Milling
- Confident interpreting engineering drawings
- Good understanding of inspection processes
- Positive, reliable and quality-driven
- Comfortable working shift patterns
- Programming capability is highly desirable.
Circa £46,000 (including 25% shift allowance)
- Moving to a 3-shift structure
- Overtime available: Time ? (first 2 hours), Time (after 2 hours), Double time Sundays
- 5% Employer Pension (5% Employee)
