Adept are recruiting on behalf of a serious engineering business based in Middlesbrough. This isn’t light machining. This is high precision work on centrifugally cast components supplying Aerospace, Defence, Energy and Chemical sectors.

If you’re a proper time served CNC machinist who can set and run machines to tight tolerances, this is worth your attention.

The Role

You will be:

  • Setting and operating CNC Turning and/or Milling machines
  • Programming jaws, fixtures and small batch runs
  • Proving out first-off components alongside Production Engineering
  • Running batch work to SOPs and routing instructions
  • Machining alloy steels, nickel-based alloys, super alloys, stainless and duplex materials
  • Carrying out in-process inspection and first-off checks
  • Reading engineering drawings (metric & imperial)
  • Working closely with Production, Engineering, Inspection and Maintenance

This is skilled machining. Not button pushing.

What They’re Looking For
  • Time-served CNC Machinist (or equivalent qualification)
  • Strong experience in CNC Turning and/or Milling
  • Confident interpreting engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of inspection processes
  • Positive, reliable and quality-driven
  • Comfortable working shift patterns
  • Programming capability is highly desirable.
Package

Circa £46,000 (including 25% shift allowance)

  • Moving to a 3-shift structure
  • Overtime available: Time ? (first 2 hours), Time (after 2 hours), Double time Sundays
