In every restaurant, you'll find talented Shift Managers who support the General and Assistant Managers to ensure every shift runs to Five Guys standards and each customer leaves the restaurant feeling better than when they arrived. Shift Managers demonstrate leadership, coaching, direction to the team, and bring our values to life for their team and our customers.
As a Shift Manager, You'll Be Responsible For:
- Our people – leading from the front and being hands‑on, working on the line and in the dining area.
- Supporting the General Manager in delivering perfect burgers and fries while providing an above‑and‑beyond experience for your team and customers.
- Creating an awesome working environment where people are happy to come to work, have fun, and lead with our values: Competitive, Enthusiastic, Family, Get It Done and Integrity.
- Ensuring every customer is delighted with their order and their Five Guys experience – you will handle complaints promptly, openly and honestly.
- Ensuring each shift runs smoothly and that our values are part of your shift management.
What You Bring To The Table:
- Experience – ideally at least one year in a similar high‑volume hospitality or QSR management role, with a track record of running busy shifts and keeping the energy high.
- Customer Satisfaction – a proven obsession with guest experience, demonstrated by high customer satisfaction scores, increased engagement, and excellent Mystery Shopper results and positive reviews.
- Financial Responsibility – an understanding of running a profitable shift, managing crew breaks, minimising food waste, and deploying the team effectively during rushes.
- Leadership Skills – a natural motivator who enjoys being hands‑on, leading by example, and getting the best out of crew during busy service.
- Operational Excellence – a good working knowledge of Food Hygiene and Health & Safety standards and the ability to enforce them on the line.
- Flexibility – availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
